What is Chelation?

Chelation Therapy (Detoxification)

The word chelation comes from the Latin word for Pincer, kind of like the pincers of a crab or lobster. The whole idea is that you are given a chemical substance that magnetically attracts metals with a heavier atomic weight. It pulls them out of cells and tissues, binds them and gets removed via liver metabolism and kidney excretion. This process does stir the pot and individuals at times can feel a little under the weather when receiving this type of treatment.

Of course you might ask yourself, why would I do this treatment? Well, these heavy metals kick out important metals like zinc, calcium and magnesium that partake in vital chemical reactions in your body. Furthermore these metals can aggravate, essential inflame your nervous system and immune system, thereby affecting your cognitive function. That's why we use it so commonly in children that are suffering from ADHD and autism. These kids have troubles removing metals in the first place, besides the fact that they have poor detoxification pathways.

Your body might need heavy metal chelation (detoxification) if you experience any of the following symptoms; headaches, joint pain, recurrent respiratory problems, fatigue, recurring candida overgrowth, thyroid problems, back pain, allergy symptoms, insomnia, acne, mood changes, arthritis, sinus congestion, ulcers, and psoriasis.

Detoxification from metal or chemical toxicity in the body requires a balanced and long term approach. No two people process detox programs the same, and no two individuals will detox at the same rate. You are unique, you have a unique fingerprint, unique digestive tract, unique immune system, etc. With that in mind there are a few basic areas to be sure you consider during the process of detoxification. It is also important to remember that these factors are not necessarily all addressed at once but rather that they are addressed continually throughout any detox process.

Detox is a process, not a destination. The usual process is to start the process in a fairly intense manner for a period of 12 to 20 weeks, and then transfer to a maintenance program for a time, and then finally moving to a long term maintenance program which is part of your normal health support and supplementation. You may do more work on it for a time and then less, or you may cycle between intense and mild detox strategies. It's life after all, things wax and wane with your health.

It is important to remember that the metals or chemicals in your body have likely been there for quite some time, and it can take a great deal of time to lower the levels safely. In this respect a long term perspective is best.

Chelation Therapy for Heavy Metal Detoxification is a painless intravenous injection that takes approximately 20 to 60 minutes to deliver depending on the treatment prescribed and your comfort level.

Chelation Therapy (Heart Health)

Chelation is an IV therapy that restores the health of arteries by slowly infusing a solution of disodium EDTA into your blood stream. It is a safe and effective way to break down the calcified plaques blocking your arterial walls, thereby improving blood flow to organs. Chelation is a cost effective and safe alternative to coronary artery bypass surgery, angioplasty, and long-term drug therapy.

Chelation Therapy for Cardiovascular Health is a painless intravenous injection that takes approximately 2 to 2½ hours to deliver depending on the treatment prescribed and your comfort level.
